Long time propositions are a must to optimize your website. Site owners, SEO's and webmasters focus must shift to acquiring a keyword in a particular position, in a particular search engine in order to increase the traffic and to convert this traffic which was their initial target in to customers instead of concentrating on the small picture of high ranking. The business goal must be all about bringing more people to the website who are looking for the type of services and products that the business is selling. If that is taken care of, the rankings and sales are automatically taken care of.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that SEO companies will magically get you that ranking and place your website at the top of all search engines. But you will definitely not be satisfied with the end result as the sales or traffic will not improve.
