Building Backlinks to your Site |
|
A critical part of any website marketing strategy is backlinking, or building of back links. A back link can be described as a link from another website linking back to your website. Backlinking is a very important off-page SEO technique because the search engine will assume that because other sites regard yours highly, it is an indication that your site has something worth on offer. Simply put, if another site will like your site, no doubt the search engines will like it too. Here are a few ways to build back links to your site.

- The first, and arguably the favorite for many web masters, is to write and submit articles to different article directories online as it has an in-built power function. Webmasters and people who publish newsletters are always on the lookout for content on different article directories to republish on their websites. They are allowed to do that, but only if they leave the resource boxes and the links of the articles they pick intact. This means that if your article is picked for republication, your back link will go with it hence earn you more than one back link.
- Even though overlooked by many webmasters, writing of press releases and submitting them to different press release websites will also help build back links when a press release is picked and republished in a non press lease directory website. Don't limit yourself, widen your imagination and turn a day's happening into news that impact on your niche.
- Take part in forum discussions both in and out of your niche. Note that search engines will give priority to links from websites that have high page ranks, thus you should conduct a thorough research to know which pages rank high. Once you post a form, make sure you include your site's URL on the identification section, but don't put it on the comment box, lest you create a bad impression among other forum members and because many forums are moderated, you might have your link removed.
- Submit your website to live website directories. Be advised that these directories will always open, merge, and close from time to time thus you should keep reviewing your site after submission.
- Write and post product reviews on review forums. Well, because you are getting started in building a business, you have to observe some high level of professionalism when doing product reviews. This means that among other things, you shouldn't just start criticizing and insulting a competitor's product to give your business an upper hand.
When seeking to build back links, you are only limited by your imagination. Use all the techniques, tips, and tricks that you know of as many times as you possibly can. Note that the World Wide Web is exactly that, wide, and worldwide thus you should also be unreserved and liberal with your marketing strategy too.
