Now that we have established that freelancing is good for all parties involved, how do the parties meet each other? Well, the good news is that there are quite a few websites who have taken it upon themselves to collaborate such meetings. The way it works is that the business which needs a task completed posts this task as a project on one or several of the freelance websites. Thereafter, the freelancer posts how much they would charge to complete such a project, and how long they think it will take them. Once the business owner finds an acceptable bid, they notify the freelancer, and the money for the project is generally placed by the business owner into escrow.

1. Guru.com Simply put, Guru.com is the largest freelance site out there. According to their website, they are responsible for connecting more than 520,000 freelancers with over 30,000 businesses and employers. 2. A freelance website which also enjoys a great amount of popularity can be found at Elance.com. Similar to Guru.com, this website has a vast array of categories and sections, and lends itself to a wide variety of potential freelance projects. Elance.com boasts in excess of 100K freelancers, and generally has over 30K new projects posted each month. You can expect to find projects in areas ranging from Finance, to Administrative Support, to Legal, to Marketing, etc.
3. To all of you programmers out there, pay attention to this. There is a website which can be found at Rentacoder.com was developed just for you. Here you can find a wide range of project specifically related to coding. These projects can range from simply uploading webpages to a server, to an abstruse multi-month campaign.
4. One of the freelance websites which is unlike the rest is Allfreelancework.com. Not only is this a website on which you will find new project, you will also find a lot of valuable information. There is a fairly complete dossier of literature on the subject of freelance. This is in addition to a forum, newsletter, products, and services.
5. Programmingbids.com. As suggested by the URL Programmingbids.com, this site focuses mostly on freelance work for programmers. Nonetheless, you will find projects from website and graphic design, to flash to software development. They even have a new section that will allow you to sell pre-made scripts you have written.
All in all, if you possess the requisite skills, freelancing is a great way to make money online. I like freelancing since it allows freelancers with marketable skills to utilize those skills outside of a nine to five job. Furthermore, it enables smaller businesses to complete projects which are pertinent to their future existence, without having to pay an excessive amount of money.
