Whenever a Hollywood motion picture is produced the ambition is to produce a film that the public loves and that will become a epic hit. Take a wonderful story line, throw in a couple of talented stars along with some special effects and voila', a huge box office success. But it does not always work that way. Below are some of the best films of all time. Choose a great film to see tonight.

The Gorgeous Hussy - Megastars fill the cast in this fictionalized historical drama of Peggy O'Neal, President Andrew Jackson's secret lover. The cast is marvelously costumed in well assigned settings. The flick is based on the story by Samuel Hopkins Joyce. Cast includes Joan Crawford, Robert Taylor, Lionel Barrymore, Franchot Tone, Melvyn Douglas, James Stewart, Alison Skipworth, Beulah Bondi, and Gene Lockhart. (102 minutes, 1936)

Underworld - Evolution - The war between the Werewolves and the Vampires rage on. Now we look back to the commencement, and see how the feud between the two races started. A conflict that began way in the past is about to be brought into the present day to finish here.

Metropolitan - Conventional comedy, overflowing with sarcasm, is set throughout Christmas season, with hermit Clements drawn into small gang of friends, and out of his shell. Cast includes Carolyn Farina, Edward Clements, Christopher Eigeman, Taylor Nichols, Allison Rutledge-Parisi, Dylan Hundley, Isabel Gillies, Bryan Leder, Can Kempe, and Elizabeth Thompson.

Zoolander - Male model Derek Zoolander is hired to help stop a group of assassins who are posing as male models. He must somehow break into this private group. Making things even more demanding is Hansel, a new, up and coming model, who keeps screwing things up for Zoolander.

Slattery's Hurricane - Weather reporter Widmark, in middle of storm, looks back on his life. Damell and Pool are the two ladies he has loved. Cast includes Richard Widmark, Linda Damell, Veronica Pool, John Russell, and Gary Merrill. (83 minutes, 1949)

The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe - This is a humorous re-creation of Lily Tomlin's 1985 one female Broadway show. Her characterizations run the scope from box woman to juvenile delinquent to New Age Lady, with much of the material in a feminist vein. The show stars Lily Tomlin obviously. (120 minutes, 1991)

Days of Wine and Roses - Modern Lost Weekend set in San Francisco, with Lemmon marrying Remick and lugging her into a state of alcoholism. Practical direction and abrasive inscribing join for phenomenal outcome. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Lee Remick, Charles Bickford, Jack Klugman, Alan Hewitt, Tom Palmer, and Jack Albertson.

Rubin and Ed - Strange odyssey of 2 gentlemen on a mission to bury a dead cat. Can they ever find the right spot? Glover once made a notorious appearance on David Letterman's TV show playing the identical personality he does here. Cast includes Crispin Glover, Howard Hesseman, Karen Black, Michael Green, and Brittney Lewis.

The House of Yes - On a stormy day in 1983, a youthful gentleman brings his fiancee home to meet his broke Washington, D.C, family, containing his wild twin sis, Jackie-O, whose fantasies in Jacqueline Kennedy have lengthened to the point of reinacting the JFK assassination-with live bullets. Well made black comedy, based on the stage production by Wendy MacLeod. Cast includes Parker Posey, Josh Harnilton, Tori Spelling, Freddie Prinze, Jr., Genevieve Bujold, and Rachael Leigh Cook.

Airheads - 3 metal heads with toy guns grudgingly take a radio station prisoner, wishing to get airtime for their one and only demo tape. Not precisely the most complex subject to mock, although the script is weak anyway. A somewhat vigorous direction and compact running time help a tad.
